- StepPreheat the oven to 400°F. In a food processor add flour, butter, cheddar, salt and cayenne pepper. Pulse until the mixture is crumbly. Add ice-cold water and pulse until a dough ball forms.
- StepPlace plastic wrap on your kitchen counter and place the dough ball in the centre. Lightly flatten the dough and cover with plastic wrap. Place into the freezer to chill.
- StepPeel, core and slice the apples and add into a large mixing bowl. Mix in all the apple pie filling ingredients and set aside.
- StepIn a large mixing bowl, add all the ingredients and hand mix until a crumbly texture is formed.
- StepRemove the dough from the freezer and place on the counter. Using a rolling pin, roll the dough out to a 12- inch diameter.
- StepGently press dough into a pie dish and fold the overhanging dough onto the edge of the pie dish and crimp.
- StepPour in the apple pie filling and cover with the crumble. Bake for 20 minutes and reduce heat to 375F, cook for 30 - 40 minutes or until the filling is bubbling and the crust/crumble are golden brown. Serve and enjoy!
