Creamy Beef Shell Pasta​

    Melt the butter in a large Dutch oven or deep skillet over medium heat. ​

    Add the diced onion and red bell pepper. Cook for 5–6 minutes, until softened. ​
  3. Step
    Stir in the minced garlic, Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, salt and black pepper. Cook for 30 seconds, until fragrant. ​

    Add the ground beef and cook for 6–8 minutes, breaking it into small crumbles, until browned. Drain any excess grease if needed. ​
  5. Step
    Stir in the tomato paste and cook for 2 minutes to deepen the flavour. ​
  6. Step
    Pour in the beef broth, heavy cream and milk. Stir until well combined. ​
  7. Step
    Add the uncooked pasta shells. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce to a simmer. Cover and cook for 10–12 minutes, stirring
  8. Step
    occasionally, until the pasta is tender and most of the liquid has been absorbed. ​
  9. Step
    Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy. ​
  10. Step
    Let the pasta rest for 2–3 minutes to thicken. ​
  11. Step
    Garnish with extra cheddar cheese and fresh chives or parsley before serving.​
