Cheesy Honey Butter Toast
Toast gets a serious luxury upgrade when slathered in honey butter and topped with a bubbling blanket of melty cheese. It’s quick, comforting and exactly the kind of snack-breakfast hybrid those brisk October mornings need. Every bite feels like a warm hug, especially since it features high-quality dairy from Ontario dairy farmers.
Ingredients

Filling
Honey Butter
Instructions
- StepIn a small bowl, combine the butter, brown sugar and honey.
- StepHeat a large non-stick skillet over low heat. Add the butter mixture and let it melt together, stirring until the brown sugar begins to dissolve and forms a smooth caramel-like sauce.
- StepPlace the bread slices directly into the skillet, coating one side with the honey butter.
- StepFlip the bread so the caramelized side is facing up. Sprinkle about ⅓–½ cup (40–45 g) of shredded mozzarella onto two of the slices.
- StepPlace the remaining bread slices on top, caramelized side facing out, to make two sandwiches.
- StepCover the skillet with a lid and cook over low heat for 3–4 minutes per side, until the bread is deep golden and crispy and the mozzarella is fully melted.
- StepRemove from the skillet and let rest for 1 minute before slicing in half.
