Instructions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 425°. Prepare a parchment line baking sheet and set aside.

Step 2

In a large bowl, add baking powder, salt, sugar, baking soda, and flour. Whisk to combine. Add shredded cheddar, jalapenos, and butter. Press with your hands to incorporate.

Step 3

In a separate bowl, whiske together 1 egg beaten and buttermilk. Slowly drizzle into dough mixture while gently mixing with a fork or pastry blender.

Step 4

Knead mixture lightly until a shaggy dough forms, dusting the surface occasionally. Roll dough into a 1" thick rectangle and cut into triangular pieces, making about 8 biscuits.

Step 5

Transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush tops of biscuits with melted butter and place in the oven. Bake scones for 20 minutes or until deep golden brown on bottom and golden on the top. Serve and enjoy!
