Taste the rich and decadent culture of Portugal in every bite with these milk tarts (also called Queijadas de Leite) made with local milk. These tarts will have a softer outer finish vs the classic Custard Tart (pasteis de nata).
Ingredients (Below yields approx 24 tarts)
Preheat oven to 400°F.
In a large bowl combine sugar and flour. Whisk in eggs, melted Ontario lactose-free butter and Ontario lactose-free milk until well combined.
Pour mixture into greased 12-muffin tin, filling them to a little more than ¾ full. Bake for 30 mins or until golden brown.
Remove tarts from muffin tin while hot and allow them to cool. Repeat step 3 and 4 if making 24 milk tarts. Dust with icing sugar and serve.
