"Supporting local is more important than ever. This is truly a time for collaboration."

AFRIM PRISTINE, ONTARIO CHEESE AMBASSADOR

The more we support local, the faster we return to ‘normal’.

As we all are aware, the COVID-19 pandemic has hit local businesses and restaurants hard. These businesses are small, but their contribution to our economy, community and culture is crucial to our shared values and way of life.

When this crisis has passed, our support of local restaurants and businesses will be needed more than ever. We encourage you to consider:

  • Choosing Ontario grown, raised and produced foods
  • Frequenting local restaurants safely
  • Shopping local
  • Donating to your local food bank

During this challenging time, Dairy Farmers of Ontario is finding ways to support our communities, partners and those who are most vulnerable. If you are able to help out, here are some organizations and initiatives worth taking a look at:

Savehospitality.ca - This initiative outlines the challenges facing our national restaurant and hospitality industry.

#onetable - this social media campaign shares the stories of chefs and restaurants across Ontario and Canada and the challenges they're facing as we all face coronavirus together.

Canada Takeout - similar to 'Takeout Tuesdays', this national initiative encourages us to take a look at local restaurants offering takeout services and the measures they're taking to ensure public health and safety.
