Hearty Garlic Butter Shrimp Shepherd’s Pie
Try this cheesy seafood twist to a traditional shepherd's pie loaded with white cheddar made in Ontario. Loaded with incredible decadent flavour that can serve as a main dish or a side.

- StepPreheat the oven to 400°F.
- StepBoil the potatoes in a large pot of salted water until tender. Drain, then mash with ½ cup whipping cream and 2 tbsp butter until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cover and set aside.
- StepIn a large skillet over medium heat, melt the remaining 2 tbsp butter. Add the garlic, onion, leeks, and celery. Cook for 3–5 minutes, or until softened.
- StepSprinkle in the flour and stir until the vegetables are coated. Slowly stir in the remaining 1 ½ cups whipping cream. Add the garlic powder and chili flakes. Simmer for 2–3 minutes, or until slightly thickened.
- StepStir in the chopped shrimp and cook for 2–3 minutes, just until the shrimp begins to turn pink. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then remove from heat.
- StepDivide the shrimp cream sauce evenly among 4 medium ramekins or place in a 8x8 inch baking dish. Top with mashed potatoes, then sprinkle with cheese
- StepBake for 15 minutes, or until the sauce is bubbling and the cheese is melted and lightly golden.
