Instructions
- StepIn a medium saucepan, bring the local milk, water, ½ cup whipping cream, and 1 tsp salt to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
- StepSlowly whisk in the grits. Reduce the heat to low and cook, stirring often, until thick and creamy, following the package timing as a guide. If the grits become too thick before they are tender, add a splash of milk, or cream.

- StepPat the shrimp dry and season with Creole seasoning, the remaining ½ tsp salt, and pepper.
- StepIn a frying pan over medium heat, melt the remaining 1 tbsp butter. Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds, until fragrant.
- StepAdd the shrimp and cook for 2–3 minutes per side, or until pink and cooked through.
- StepStir in the remaining ½ cup whipping cream and 1 tbsp lemon juice. Cook for 1–2 minutes, just until the sauce is warmed through and slightly thickened.
- StepSpoon the cheddar grits into serving bowls. Top with the spiced shrimp and pan sauce. Garnish with parsley and the remaining lemon juice, if desired. Serve warm.
