Dairy Farmers of Ontario (DFO) is the marketing board for the largest sector of Ontario agriculture. DFO’s current operations include 220 trucks transporting more than 3.1 billion litres of milk to 80 dairy processing plants within the province each year. About the Role
Reporting to the Chief Business and Supply Chain Officer, the Cost Accounting Manager will be responsible for leading the monthly billing and payment cycle of plants, transporters and farmers. This role oversees key accounting processes, including financial adjustments, quota payments, and billing activities, while maintaining strong internal controls and supporting the efficient operation of the department.
Working collaboratively with teams across the organization you will lead process improvement initiatives, contribute to system enhancements, and support the development and implementation of innovative billing and payment solutions. This role offers the opportunity to lead cross-functional projects, mentor team members, and make meaningful contributions to the ongoing success and continuous improvement of DFO’s financial operations.

To succeed, you will have:
• Post-secondary degree or diploma, preferably in accounting or business
• CPA designation
• 7+ years accounting or billing process experience
• 2+ years management experience
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, expert in Excel
• Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Demonstrated business acumen
• Strong customer service skills
• Experience working in a regulated work environment is an asset
• Knowledge of the dairy industry, ideally at a processing plant is a strong asset
• Bilingual in French and English is an asset

Overview of the job responsibilities:
• Monthly billing and payments cycle
• Review accuracy of prepared and processed financial adjustments and journal entries
• Review quota payments, quota sales directions, assignments and direct deposits
• Participate in the development of billing and payment solutions within division and with other departments
• Project management and implementation; solutioning business and control requirements, and quality assurance plan

Salary Range:
$90,000 to $110,000
