This cheesy, quick and easy Mac N Cheese will be one for the weekly dinner rotation and it doesn't require an oven!
Step 1 - Breadcrumbs
In a skillet over medium heat add the butter, whisky frequently. Continue cooking until the butter begins to foam & give off a nutty aroma, about 3 to 4 minutes. It will go from brown butter to burnt butter very quickly, so watch it carefully.
Step 2 (Breadcrumbs)
Once the butter browns, add the breadcrumbs. Season with salt & pepper. Set aside until ready to serve.
In a saucepan over low heat whisk together the butter & flour until the flour is cooked, about 3 to 5 minutes.
Whisk in the milk. Season with salt, pepper & pepper flakes. Continue cooking until mixture begins to thicken, about 15 minutes.
Add the cheeses & sour cream. Stir until the cheese fully melts into the sauce.
Fold in the macaroni. Garnish with breadcrumbs & serve immediately.
