About the Role

Our logistics team delivers a high level of customer service in the allocation and transportation of milk from farms to processing plants throughout Ontario. As a key member of the team, the Logistics Coordinator administers and monitors programs and contracts, and prepares reports on the operation’s
performance. The working environment is fast paced, and requires the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team. To be successful, the ideal candidate will be highly organized, analytical, and able
to multi-task competing demands.

A valid Class G driver’s license, access to a vehicle and willingness to spend approximately 10% of time away from the office and home are requirements of the position.

To succeed, you will have:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ administrative work experience, preferably in a regulated environment
  • Ability to foster strong relationships and track projects
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (mail merge and excel)
  • Aptitude for learning software programs
  • Dairy industry experience is an asset
  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset

Overview of job responsibilities:

  1. Administer and monitor programs and contracts, and maintain accurate records.
  2. Track and investigate issues to determine the responsibility and liability of the parties.
  3. Investigate, resolve errors and administer financial adjustments before billing is run.
  4. Prepare and distribute various performance metric reports.
  5. Assist in maintaining accurate records and statistics in database files.
  6. Prepare communications, notifications, and letters.
  7. Organize, prepare and make all arrangements for meetings and off site conferences.
  8. Liaise with plants to prepare for meter calibrations; scheduling and available equipment.
  9. Prepare supplies to be couriered to transporters.

IT Support SpecialistIT Support Specialist

About the Role

DFO is seeking a proactive and solutions-oriented IT Support Specialist to join our team. In this dynamic role, you will be the primary point of contact for desktop infrastructure and end-user support for employees, producers, and educators. You will oversee the DFO Service Desk, ensuring effective triage, assignment, and resolution of support requests, while coordinating with third-party Managed Services as needed. Additionally, you’ll manage mobile device support, contribute to Data Centre operations, monitor system performance, and perform regular backups. Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends is required.

To succeed, you will have:

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer science or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a desktop support and/or data center support role
  • Strong technical proficiency with PC laptops, servers, IT operations, mobile devices, and related peripherals
  • Solid understanding of Windows networking, Active Directory, TCP/IP, switches, routers, VOIP, virtualization, and cloud technologies
  • Solid experience working with ITSM solutions and service desk softwares
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS, and VMware considered assets
  • Microsoft certification is an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational, customer service, and problem-solving abilities
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Bilingual in English and French is an asset
  • Knowledge of the dairy and/or agriculture industry is an assess

Overview of job responsibilities:

  1. Provide support to DFO employees, Board members, and producers(on-site and remote) in the use of desktop systems, software, and mobile devices.
  2. Troubleshoot and analyze computer system errors, including networking, VPN, and intranet issues, to determine effective resolution.
  3. Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, printers, multi-function devices, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment.
  4. Create, modify, and deploy standard configuration images for computers.
  5. Provide end-user support for enterprise-class smartphones, iPads, and rugged handheld devices, including setup, configuration, basic troubleshooting, and escalation to the telecommunications provider when necessary.
  6. Respond to help desk calls, resolving as many issues as possible on first contact.
  7. Maintain documentation of support requests and track issue trends to support continuous improvement.
  8. Engage third party Managed Services or internal staff as required to resolve IT related issues.
  9. Assess functional needs and provide recommendations on hardware and software technologies, with a focus on how they can support business objectives and drive innovation through proactive adoption of new solutions.
  10. Assist with data center operations including maintenance of the operations schedule, backups, and disaster recovery testing.
  11. Assist with hardware maintenance including installing, configuring, and replacing servers, switches, routers, and other physical components.
  12. Perform routine hardware diagnostics.
  13. Monitor server performance and uptime.
  14. Respond to alerts related to hardware and software issues.

Dairy Farmers of Ontario’s dairy education program has been supporting Ontario schools since 1995. We are currently seeking self-motivated, enthusiastic individuals to join this elite team of educators. The ideal candidates will possess knowledge of the dairy industry and have experience leading children in a group setting.

Dairy educators are responsible for the promotion, coordination, and implementation of the local dairy education program in a specified region. Program elements include live school presentations to elementary level students on various dairy-related topics as well as community events.

The dairy education program offers a flexible work schedule and makes an ideal supplemental income opportunity.  It is anticipated the dairy educator will work 3-4 days per week during school hours from September to June. Professional development and community event opportunities exist during July and August. Dairy Farmers of Ontario fosters a healthy work-life balance and family-first focus.

This exciting, highly interactive position has the following requirements and qualifications:

  • Experience working with groups of school-age children in a leadership role
  • Demonstrated effective group management skills
  • Enjoyment working with elementary school children
  • Knowledge of the dairy industry
  • Access to a vehicle
  • OCT Certification and bilingualism (English/French) would be considered an asset
