On November 11, 2025, at the Dairy Farmers of Ontario’s (DFO) Head Office, the ballot count for the 2025 Election for Board Member in Region 10 was held in accordance with the procedures detailed in Ontario Regulation 760, as amended, made under the Milk Act. The Election Returning Officer, Assistant Returning Officers and two independent scrutineers conducted the ballot count.

The candidate receiving the largest number of votes in the election for Region 10 is Derek Van Dieten. DFO’s Board has declared Derek Van Dieten elected to serve as Board Member for Region 10 for a four-year term commencing immediately following the adjournment of the DFO Annual General Meeting on January 15, 2026.

To maintain the current P5 production of butterfat for 2026, the P5 Boards have approved a 1% saleable quota increase on December 1, 2025.

In addition, the P5 Boards have approved to change the SNF/BF payment policy tier 2 protein to be paid at the monthly 4a price plus $3.00 per kg, effective January 1, 2026.

On September 25, 2025, in accordance with Ontario Regulation 760, as amended, made under the Milk Act, the Board approved the elections by acclamation as follows:

Brian Burnett, Board Member for Region 2
George van Kampen, Board Member for Region 6

Each will serve for a four-year term commencing January 15, 2026, immediately following the adjournment of DFO’s Annual General Meeting.

ODFAP is a co-operative project of DFO, the Canadian Dairy Commission (CDC), Agriculture Canada and the University of Guelph. ODFAP develops farm production and management data which meets the farm database requirements of the Ontario dairy industry using a sample of farms, which represent typical Ontario dairy farm situations, different levels of technology, regional differences and other significant factors.
