Slow Cooker Mocha Poached Pears

If you love chocolate and coffee, then these Mocha Poached Pears made with delicious cream and vanilla ice cream from Ontario are a wonderful addition to your dessert collection. This recipe is so easy to make and requires minimal labour for when you’re cooking up a storm for a party!

    In a slow cooker, whisk together sugar and cocoa. Add coffee, cream and vanilla and whisk until smooth. Place pears in slow cooker; cover and cook on LOW for 4 hours or until pears are tender.

    Place pear quarters in shallow bowls and ladle sauce over top. Top with ice cream and sprinkle with chocolate to serve.
  3. Step
    Place pears in a large baking dish and pour mocha mixture over top. Cover and bake in preheated 400°F (200°C) oven for about 40 minutes or until tender when pierced with a knife.

WHIPPED CREAM OPTION

Omit ice cream and top with whipped cream instead.
