Loa-De-Mede Farms Ltd.The Werry family has served the Oshawa region for eight generations. It’s easy to see their dedication to the community; from pioneering dairy farming to lacing up their skates. In the 1930s, Clarence Werry helped start the Ideal Dairy processing co-operative in Oshawa. His son, Bill became a prominent part of the Oshawa community when he joined the local chapter of the Boy Scouts. In the 1950s, he became a scout master and mentored local youth for 29 years (almost half his life). Heather has continued this passion for uplifting youth by volunteering at fundraisers for school events since 2014. As for the newest member of the family, Tate, he’s been a part of the hockey community since 2017. The Werry family is made of proud dairy farmers, and they’re also a family of scouts, volunteers, hockey players and so much more.

PASSING DOWN TRADITIONS TO NEW
GENERATIONS

Where they were

Clarence Werry was a pioneer among Ontario dairy farmers, installing one of the first milk tanks in Canada. This helped him get dairy onto more tables across Ontario.

Where they are now

Now his great-grandson is continuing that same family legacy, producing high-quality local milk for Oshawa and the rest of Ontario.
