On June 3, 2020, the election of Farm & Food Care Ontario’s (FFCO) 2020-21 board executive took place.

FFCO is a registered Canadian charity that brings farmers, agricultural professionals, related businesses, government organizations and other groups together with a mandate to build public trust in food and farming in Ontario and across Canada.

Moving to the helm of the organization is board chair Bonnie den Haan, nominated to FFCO's board by Dairy Farmers of Ontario (DFO).

Den Haan is DFO's Board Member in Region 6, representing farmers in Dufferin, Peel, Simcoe and Wellington. She was elected to DFO's Board in 2017.

Den Haan owns Haanview Farm and Sheldon Creek Dairy with her family. They have been dairy farming for over 35 years. There, the Den Haan family produces and processes non-homogenized and A2 milk on-farm, the only A2 milk in Ontario. Milk with the A2 protein from A2 cows has been shown to be more easily digested. Den Haan replaces Christine Schoonderwoerd, nominated by Wallenstein Feed & Supply Ltd, who steps into the role of past chair.

Den Haan says, “I am excited to be moving into the role of chair of Farm & Food Care Ontario. The synergies between this organization and so many companies, commodity groups and farmers across Ontario make it a great group to be part of.”
