Director, Logistics

The Opportunity

Dairy Farmers of Ontario is hiring for a Director, Logistics. The Director, Logistics is a member of the Senior Leadership team, leading a team of 14 members in three main functions within the Logistics Department: transportation, milk allocation and measurement. This role will work closely and is instrumental in maintaining a mutually beneficial relationship with dairy processors, the Ontario Dairy Council (ODC), milk producers, transporters, and the Ontario Milk Transportation Association (OMTA).
 
The ideal candidate will need to possess strong project managements skills. They will also need to be results and goal-oriented, strategic, logical, and perceptive with good judgement.

To succeed, you will have:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field along with a professional designation in logistics or supply chain
· Minimum 15 years’ progressive logistics experience, including management experience
· Experience working in a data rich environment and experienced in gathering, analyzing, and interpreting measurement metrics resulting in business performance improvements
· Exposure to a regulatory, policy-driven environment as well as unionized environments
· Experience negotiating agreements is strongly desired
· Fleet management experience (transport trucks) is an asset
· Bilingual (English/French) is considered an asset

Overview of job responsibilities:

1. Oversees the efficient and effective utilization of transportation providers while providing excellent customer service to dairy producers and processors. 
2. Assembles and interprets the necessary data to make informed business decisions and determines how DFO can leverage best practices in logistics and supply chain, while closely monitoring actual performance and improving DFO's overall performance.
